The international conference “Support for witnesses and crime victims: enhancement of Courts and NGOs cooperation” will be held in Vilnius (registration started)

The international conferenceSupport for witnesses and crime victims: enhancement of Courts and NGOs cooperation” will take place in Vilnius on the 26th of February 2015. Representatives from non-governmental organizations of Lithuania and Norway and judicial system will give presentations, experts from Norway and Poland will share experiences and the discussions related on support to witnesses and crime victims will be held.

“The aim of the conference is to enhance Courts and NGOs cooperation by providing better support for witnesses and crime victims during the court proceedings. We believe that after familiarization with foreign experiences and experiences of non govermental organizations providing assistance to victims, we will be able to clarify the issues and to look for solutions”, - saying the conference initiator National Courts Administration Director Reda Molienė.

International conference funded by Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 programme “Efficiency, Quality and Transparency in Lithuanian Courts” (LT13). By implementing the programme publications “"What to do if you are being called to testify?” for the participants of the court proceedings were published, a virtual courtroom, where visitors will familiarize with the judicial process will be shortly created.
